Meteorologists reported that the coldest temperatures in Lithuania were recorded in Ukmerge and Joniskis, dropping to -27 degrees Celsius.
On a chilly Monday night in Lithuania, the coldest temperatures were observed in Ukmergė and Joniškis, where the mercury dipped as low as -27 degrees Celsius. The morning brought severe cold across various cities, with Klaipėda recording -14 degrees, Vilnius at -18 degrees, Kaunas at -16 degrees, and both Šiauliai and Alytus peaking at -20 degrees Celsius.
As the weather conditions are dominated by a central anticyclone, the forecast indicated minimal cloud cover with no snowfall expected. Winds will be light, coming from the southern direction, and daytime temperatures are projected to range between -6 and -11 degrees Celsius. Similar conditions are anticipated for Tuesday night, with temperatures potentially dropping to between -18 and -23 degrees Celsius in some areas.
Looking forward, the atmospheric pressure is set to gradually decrease, leading to an increase in cloud cover across Lithuania. There may be sporadic sunlight, particularly in the southeast, with a slight chance for snow in certain regions. By Tuesday, the highest temperatures are expected to range from -7 to -12 degrees Celsius, signaling another cold day for the nation.
