Abused Disabled Person Leading to Death, Staff Arrested for Evidence Tampering

Three staff members of a care facility in Japan have been arrested on charges related to the death of a disabled resident, including assault leading to death and evidence tampering.

On March 17, in a group home for disabled individuals in Chiba, Japan, a 19-year-old resident named Ryuhei Mihara was reported dead, leading to the arrest of three staff members. Suspect Yasuki Nemoto, aged 36, is charged with assault resulting in death, having allegedly beaten and kicked Mihara, which resulted in respiratory failure and significant blood loss. His wife, 35-year-old Nana, allegedly encouraged evidence tampering, while another staff member, Miki Tobari, reportedly concealed the crime by fabricating a story about Mihara's death, claiming it resulted from a fall down the stairs.
