Drug trade in the fields... Bust of MD drugs factory in MP, drugs worth 12 crore seized
Police in Madhya Pradesh busted an illegal MD (Mephedrone) drug manufacturing factory in a field in Mandsaur district, seizing drugs and chemicals valued at 12 crore.
In a significant crackdown, police in Mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh uncovered an illegal MD (Mephedrone) drug manufacturing factory operating out of a field in Surjana village. The operation led to the seizure of a large quantity of narcotics, chemicals, and drug manufacturing equipment. Two individuals were arrested at the scene while they were in the process of producing MD using a mixture of potent chemicals. The police's swift action highlights the growing challenge of illegal drug manufacturing in rural areas.
During the raid, authorities recovered over 100 grams of MD, along with 12.61 kilograms of dense chemical mixtures, 3.54 kilograms of a transparent liquid, and 680 grams of a white chemical powder—all essential components used in the production of illegal drugs. The police also found several tools and equipment being used in the drug-making process, including a traditional churning machine normally used for making buttermilk. This incident reflects not just a local but a regional drug issue that has raised concerns about the cultivation of illegal drug production in less monitored areas.
Superintendent of Police Vinod Kumar Meena stated that this operation underscores the police’s commitment to tackling drug-related crimes and protecting the community from the dangers of narcotics. As the fight against drug manufacturing continues, local law enforcement agencies are likely to intensify their efforts to dismantle such operations, which threaten public health and safety.
