MSC has announced the further enhancement of its NWC UK service to and from Greece and Turkey, aiming to improve scheduling reliability for its customers.
MSC, under the leadership of Gianluigi Aponte, has announced an expansion of its NWC UK service to and from Greece and Turkey. This upgrade aims to enhance the reliability of the schedules and improve overall planning for customers, addressing demands in these key markets. The service will utilize additional capacity and a carefully orchestrated port approach to ensure resilience, even amidst congestion periods.
The upgraded service features the MSC Santa Maria, which is set to commence its journey from Liverpool on February 4, 2026. This first ship will symbolize MSC's commitment to providing reliable sea freight options connecting the UK with Greece and Turkey. The enhancements reflect MSC's strategic focus on adapting its operations to market needs, thereby solidifying its position in the transatlantic route.
The decision to strengthen this service aligns with MSC's overall growth strategy, as the company continues to be recognized as the largest liner company globally. The organization expanded its capacity by 11.7% in 2025, adding 54 new ships, which further solidified its competitive edge. MSC's ongoing investments in fleet expansion and service enhancement highlight its proactive approach to maintaining leadership in the maritime sector.
