Metro: The Syntagma, Acropolis, Syngrou-Fix, and Neos Kosmos stations close earlier from today
Four central metro stations in Athens will now close earlier to facilitate ongoing construction work.
Starting today, February 8, four key metro stations in Athens, namely Syntagma (Line 2), Acropolis, Syngrou-Fix, and Neos Kosmos, will be closing daily at 21:40, which is about two and a half hours earlier than usual. This temporary adjustment is being made as part of ongoing construction works that include replacing the railway tracks and installing a 5G network in the metro. The Syntagma station will continue to operate normally for Line 3 services to and from the Airport. The adjusted schedule will be in effect from Sunday to Thursday, with trains on Line 2 running between the sections 'Anthoupoli – University' and 'Ag. Ioannis – Elliniko'. The last departures before the closure from Anthoupoli to Elliniko are scheduled for 21:25, with subsequent stops at University, Syntagma, Acropolis, Syngrou-Fix, and Neos Kosmos until 21:44. To accommodate the needs of the public during this operational change, the Athens Urban Transport Organization (OASA) is implementing additional measures. These adjustments highlight the ongoing efforts to modernize the public transport infrastructure in Athens while ensuring that essential services remain operational.
