The first Lithuanians to start in Milan and Cortina Olympics will be the skier changing slides and the relay biathlon team
The Lithuanian athletes Tautvydas Strolia and a relay biathlon team are set to compete in the Milan and Cortina Olympics.
In the upcoming Milan and Cortina Olympics, Tautvydas Strolia, a 30-year-old cross-country skier, will represent Lithuania in the 20 km skiathlon event. This race format requires competitors to complete the first 10 km using the classical technique and the remaining distance with the freestyle style. Strolia's competition will begin at 1:30 PM local Lithuanian time, marking not only the start of his Olympic journey but also ensuring he will conclude the Lithuanian men's skiing events in these Olympic games on February 21, during the 50 km race held in classical style.
Alongside Strolia, Lithuania will be represented by three other cross-country skiers: Ieva Dainytė, Eglė Savickaitė, and Modestas Vaičiulis. The team is slated to showcase their skills on a global stage, with the Olympic Games set to enhance their visibility and foster national pride.
