Increase to 65,000 the goal of the Housing for Well-Being program in Sonora: Alfonso Durazo

Sonora has increased its goal for the Housing for Well-Being program from 34,000 to 65,000 homes to be built by 2030, supported by Governor Alfonso Durazo and authorized by President Claudia Sheinbaum.

The state of Sonora has increased its target for the Housing for Well-Being program, changing the goal from 34,000 homes to 65,000 by the year 2030. This decision was authorized by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, with the active support of Governor Alfonso Durazo MontaΓ±o. The program aims to ensure that vulnerable families in the state have ownership of adequate and safe housing, addressing essential social needs in a growing population.

Thanks to the efforts of Governor Durazo, Sonora has become the first state in Mexico to dedicate all necessary land for the construction of homes under the National Housing Program for Well-Being. This initiative is managed by the National Housing Commission (Conavi) and Infonavit, focusing on providing affordable housing to those without social security, which is a significant step for many families who typically struggle to access housing in the region.

In a recent ceremony in Cajeme, Governor Durazo, alongside Edna Elena Vega Rangel, the Secretary of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development, inaugurated the first 48 homes of the housing development "Jo'ara." This project represents a collaborative effort to support the most vulnerable populations in Sonora, emphasizing the administration's commitment to social housing and the improvement of living conditions for its citizens.
