In Sussuapara, in the southern region of Piauí, Brazil, professional runner Samuel Lopes experienced the destruction of his vehicle due to a fire on the morning of July 7, 2025. While he was training on the PI-238 highway, his friend, who was driving the car, noticed flames erupting suddenly. Despite their attempts to extinguish the flames using an extinguisher and water, the fire spread rapidly, resulting in a total loss of the car. Samuel highlighted the emotional impact and financial burden, as he had only paid eight out of the 48 installments for the vehicle, leaving him with 40 unpaid payments.
