Henry Sildaru will compete in the men's park skiing qualification for freestyle skiing at the Milano Cortina Olympics, starting at 15:00, with commentary from Kristjan Kallaste and Riho Laast-Laas.
Today at 15:00 Estonia's ETV+ and the ERR sports portal will broadcast live coverage of the men's park skiing qualification for freestyle skiing at the Milano Cortina Olympics. Among the 29 athletes participating is Estonian freestyle skier Henry Sildaru, who will take his turn 20th. Each freestyle skier will have the opportunity to traverse the course twice, with their best score being counted towards qualification. Only the top twelve athletes will advance to the finals, increasing the stakes for this critical event.
Nineteen-year-old Sildaru is competing in all three freestyle skiing events at the Olympics, which include park skiing, Big Air jumps, and halfpipe skiing. Prior to the Olympics, Sildaru revealed to ERR that sketches of the Olympic course are already available, although he noted that the actual course may differ from the design plans. He expressed confidence that a complete plan would only be finalized once they arrive at the Olympic site to assess the course first-hand.
As Sildaru prepares for this significant moment in his career, he emphasizes that all athletes aspire for greatness, indicating the competitive spirit and high aspirations common among Olympic competitors. The attention towards his performance not only highlights the individual talent of Sildaru but also reflects on Estonia's growing presence in winter sports on an international stage.
