Estonian cyclist Madis Mihkels secured 24th place in the Muscat Classic race held in Oman.
Estonian cyclist Madis Mihkels, representing EF Education – EasyPost, finished 24th in the Muscat Classic, a one-day race covering a distance of 176.2 km. The race was notable for its challenging course that included several steep climbs, with Swiss rider Mauro Schmid taking the victory. In his post-race comments, Mihkels expressed satisfaction with his performance, despite the difficulties presented by the last few climbs. He noted that the final climb was particularly tough due to the wind conditions, which affected his ability to maintain speed. Mihkels managed to finish among approximately 30 competitors in the main group but mentioned that he could not keep pace with the top contenders during the final stretch of the race.
Looking ahead, Mihkels is set to participate in the Oman Cycling Tour, which starts the following Saturday, indicating his proactive approach to racing in challenging conditions.
