State Government delivers 35th Battalion of the Fire Department in Oriximiná and expands services in the western region
The State Government of Pará inaugurated the 35th Battalion of the Military Fire Department in Oriximiná, enhancing emergency service coverage in the western region.
On Monday, the 23rd, the State Government of Pará officiated the inauguration of the 35th Battalion of the Military Fire Department in Oriximiná, attended by Governor Helder Barbalho and other local officials. This event took place at the unit’s headquarters on Avenida Independência in the Santa Terezinha neighborhood. The establishment of this unit is a critical part of a broader strategy aimed at decentralizing emergency services across the state, ensuring more rapid responses to incidents such as fires, rescues, and pre-hospital assistance.
With a workforce of 31 firefighters led by 1st Lieutenant Samuel, and 2nd Lieutenant Alexandre as deputy commander, the new battalion is set to serve not only Oriximiná but also nearby municipalities including Óbidos, Curuá, Juruti, Terra Santa, and Faro. This initiative is expected to reinforce the institutional presence of the Fire Department in the western region of Pará, ultimately improving public safety and emergency response times.
The creation of this battalion underscores the State Government's commitment to improving emergency infrastructure and response capabilities in under-served areas. It reflects a growing recognition of the importance of accessible emergency services for the safety and well-being of communities, particularly in more remote regions. The local government's efforts are designed to enhance readiness and ensure that residents receive efficient help during emergencies.
