The Government of Ghana has expressed its appreciation towards Nigerian authorities, especially the Department of State Services (DSS), for their effective intervention that led to the rescue of 44 Ghanaians from a human trafficking network. This operation was conducted in coordination with security agencies from both Nigeria and Ghana, highlighting the significance of international cooperation in combating trafficking crimes. The rescued individuals, consisting of 27 males and 17 females, were found in Akwa Ibom State, specifically in the Uyo and Ikot Ekpene Local Government Areas. Following their rescue, they were promptly returned to Ghana, where they were received by an official from the Ghana High Commission.
