CM Dhami has divided the departments, know who got which ministry?
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has divided the departments following the cabinet expansion, retaining key portfolios for himself to maintain direct control over governance and law enforcement.
After the recent cabinet expansion in Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has completed the highly awaited distribution of departmental responsibilities. In a strategic move to keep key portfolios such as general administration, home affairs, personnel, vigilance, appointments and training, and information and public relations under his own purview, he aims to ensure direct control over governance and law and order. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister has also delegated various departments to his fellow ministers to enhance efficiency and coordination in the administration.
Among the newly appointed ministers, Khajan Das, Madan Kaushik, Bharat Singh Chaudhary, Pradeep Batra, and Ram Singh Kaida have been entrusted with specific responsibilities. This distribution not only aims to improve administrative efficiency and regional balance but is also seen as a political strategy by the Chief Minister to retain overall control while effectively delegating tasks. By assigning various ministerial roles, Dhami hopes to expedite the functioning of government operations and maintain a better check on his administration's performance.
The allocation of portfolios reflects a carefully calculated approach by the Chief Minister to ensure that essential sectors are closely monitored. For instance, Bharat Singh Chaudhary has been assigned the departments of rural development, MSME, and khadi & village industries; Khajan Das has taken charge of social welfare, minority welfare, student welfare, and language; while Ram Singh Kaida has been given urban development responsibilities. This strategic portfolio distribution signals Dhami's focus on enhancing governmental response to regional demands and improving the political landscape in Uttarakhand.
