'As soon as he became Mohammad, Deepak was invited to Iftar,' CM Dhami targeted Rahul Gandhi

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami criticized Congress leadership for allegedly protecting individuals who create confusion by changing their identity.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has put the Congress leadership in the spotlight over an incident in Kotdwar. He accused Congress of providing support to those who manipulate their identity to create confusion in society. Citing the case of a man named Deepak who changed his name to Mohammad, Dhami highlighted that Rahul Gandhi, referred to as Congress's 'young prince', invited him to an Iftar party as soon as he adopted the new name.

Dhami further emphasized his point by stating that Rahul Gandhi did not take any notice of Deepak until he altered his name. This action, according to Dhami, reflects Congress's mentality, suggesting a preference for identity-based politics. He advised that individual names should not influence political support while calling out the double standards in how the Congress treats different community members based on their names.

In his remarks regarding Muslim women and the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), CM Dhami questioned Congress's dialogue on pressing issues affecting Muslim sisters, such as triple talaq, halala, and polygamy. He stated that many Muslim women approached him, expressing that they were treated in matters concerning their rights, especially under Modi's leadership, indicating a demand for better representation and support for women facing these injustices.
