Seven Ministers' Detachment from Dhami Cabinet in Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expanded his cabinet by inducting five new ministers to represent various social and regional constituencies.

Today marks a significant day in Uttarakhand's politics as Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expanded his cabinet by including five new members. The oath-taking ceremony, held at the Raj Bhavan, was officiated by Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (Retd.), formalizing the cabinetโ€™s expansion to a total of 12 members. This strategic move reflects the government's efforts to balance social and regional equations within its administration.

The cabinet expansion aims to enhance representation for diverse social groups and regions in Uttarakhand. Ethnically, the new ministers include two members from the Thakur community (Bharat Chaudhary, Ram Singh Kaida), one from the Dalit community (Khajan Das), one from the Brahmin community (Madan Kaushik), and one from the Punjabi community (Pradeep Batra). Additionally, the geographical distribution is designed to maintain regional balance, with one minister from the Kumaon area, two from Garhwal, and two from the plains.

Khajan Das, a seasoned BJP leader and previously a minister, represents the Dalit community and is among the newly inducted ministers. The cabinet reshuffle not only highlights the BJP's commitment to inclusive governance but also aims to strengthen its foothold in various constituencies ahead of the upcoming political challenges in the state.
