A disturbing case has emerged from the Gomti Nagar Extension area of Lucknow, where a young woman has accused a man of rape under false pretenses of marriage and subsequent blackmail. The victim claims she met the accused, Shakti Pratap Singh, through a matrimonial site, where he first introduced himself as Harsh Raghuvanshi. After gaining her trust, he lured her to Lucknow, promising marriage and even booked her ticket to ensure her presence. Once there, he allegedly coerced her into sexual acts, betraying her trust and violating her consent.

According to the victim's statement, the accused not only assaulted her physically but also recorded compromising videos and photos during the incident. The accused reportedly used these materials to blackmail her, demanding a hefty sum of 1.8 lakh rupees, which she was coerced into paying. The situation escalated when the accused invited her back to Lucknow in November of the previous year, claiming he would delete the recordings but instead demanded an additional 5 lakh rupees when she arrived, indicating a continued pattern of exploitation and manipulation.
