SUMMER CRUISE SEASON BEGINS ON TUESDAY

The summer cruise season kicks off in Tallinn with the arrival of the cruise ship AIDAprima, marking the start of a busy tourism period in the region.

On Tuesday, the cruise season in Tallinn's Old Port will officially commence with the arrival of AIDAprima, which was also the last ship of the previous cruise season. The vessel is set to depart from Kiel, Germany, on a week-long Baltic Sea cruise and will make its first stop in Tallinn at 11:30 AM. Following its time in Tallinn, AIDAprima will head towards Helsinki, with additional stops planned in Stockholm before returning to Kiel.

The AIDAprima is an imposing 300-meter-long cruise ship, known for accommodating approximately 3,300 passengers and 900 crew members. Built in 2016 at Mitsubishi Shipbuilding in Nagasaki, Japan, the ship features 18 decks for passenger entertainment and relaxation. This season, it will return to Tallinn on April 7th as part of a 16-day cruise starting in Kiel and ending in Hamburg, further enhancing the connectivity between these Baltic destinations.

Despite being a prominent player in this year's itinerary, AIDAprima will not return to Estonia after its April visit, highlighting the short window of opportunity for local tourism businesses to capitalize on the influx of tourists. This change signifies a competitive maritime tourism landscape in the region, as ports prepare for an influx of visitors eager to explore the Baltic Sea and its beautiful scenery.
