Cruise: A new era for Royal Caribbean International
Royal Caribbean International is reaffirming Greece's status as a prime Mediterranean cruise destination by homeporting the Brilliance of The Seas in Piraeus with unique itineraries starting in summer 2026.
The cruise industry continues to highlight Greece as one of the most appealing and strategic Mediterranean destinations, especially in the Eastern Mediterranean. Royal Caribbean International, a leading group in the cruise industry, has again chosen Greece as a homeport, specifically with its cruise ship Brilliance of The Seas, which this summer will operate from the port of Piraeus. Starting in the summer of 2026, the Brilliance of the Seas will offer four unique departures from and to Piraeus, featuring 7-night cruises to popular Greek ports like Mykonos, Santorini, and Rhodes, while also visiting Turkish ports such as Ephesus, Bodrum, and Istanbul, as well as Limassol in Cyprus.
The Brilliance of the Seas belongs to the Radiance class, boasting a gross tonnage of 90,090 tons, 13 decks, and a length of 293 meters. This revitalization of cruise offerings in Greece not only enhances tourism in the area but also aligns with Royal Caribbean's broader strategy to cater to the resurgence in travel and leisure activities post-pandemic, emphasizing the importance of homeports in stimulating local economies and promoting regional attractions.
