Yuno Nagao and Others Serve as Judges at the First 'Kids Future Award' Ceremony

The first 'Kids Future Award' ceremony, recognizing products and initiatives contributing to children's learning and growth, was held in Tokyo, where notable figures like 9-year-old Yuno Nagao served as a judge.

The inaugural 'Kids Future Award' ceremony took place on the 22nd in Tokyo at the Asahi Shimbun's headquarters, celebrating products and company initiatives that foster children's learning and growth. The event featured 9-year-old Yuno Nagao among the judges, who played a pivotal role in determining winners in categories ranging from books and experiential learning to health-related products. Nominees were selected based on public votes as well as judges' evaluations, highlighting the community's involvement in supporting children's education.

Among the various awards, the highest honor, the Grand Prize, went to 'New Yakult', a lactic acid drink produced by Yakult Honsha, which received the most votes. Moreover, the 'Human Resource Award' was presented to Takushi Izawa, a popular quizmaster from the quiz group QuizKnock, while the 'Experiential Learning Award' was given to 'Kodomo no Kuni', a facility operated by the Children's Country Association in Yokohama. This kind of recognition aims to motivate companies and individuals to contribute positively to children's educational development.

The 'Kids Future Award' was established this year through a joint effort between the Asahi Shimbun Group and Gakken Holdings, under the banner of Asahi Gakken Think Quest. During the ceremony, Yuno Nagao expressed her enthusiasm for the Special Judges’ Award she presented, which acknowledged JTB Publishing's '47 Prefectures MasterCard'. She emphasized its educational aspects, saying it not only serves as a fun way to learn about local geography and specialty products, but also can stimulate social engagement as families plan visits to different regions to taste local delicacies.
