Satu sold before ketogenic diet coaching – Then she realized a nagging concern in the back of her mind
Satu Sjöholm, once a prominent advocate of the ketogenic diet, has stepped back from her role as a diet coach due to concerns about the sustainability of such drastic dietary restrictions.
Satu Sjöholm became known as a ketogenic influencer after writing a blog and publishing a book on the subject, selling online coaching focused on the ketogenic lifestyle. However, despite her success, she began to feel an underlying concern about the extreme restrictions her diet imposed on her lifestyle and mental health. After several years of adhering to the ketogenic diet, she has decided to step away from promoting it, discontinuing her coaching services and adopting a more flexible eating approach.
In hindsight, Satu notes that even at the beginning of her ketogenic journey, she had reservations about the appropriateness of such a restrictive diet for herself. The low-carb diet had initially come to her attention through a close family member diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, for whom she created low-carb recipes. These recipes garnered attention on her blog, leading to her eventual involvement in ketogenic coaching. However, as time went on, she found that the demand for strict dietary adherence conflicted with her personal feelings about food and health.
This shift in Satu's approach highlights a growing conversation about the sustainability of restrictive diets like keto and the importance of listening to one’s body. By ceasing her role as a ketogenic advocate, she aims to promote a healthier relationship with food that prioritizes mental and emotional well-being, rather than rigid adherence to dietary rules.
