Health alert issued to anyone who drinks coffee before 9am
A health alert warns against drinking coffee before 9am as it may disrupt the body's natural hormonal balance and increase dehydration.
Rojina Shams Nateri, a pharmacist at Roseway Labs, has issued a health alert targeting those who consume coffee before 9am. The alert emphasizes that many people unwittingly harm their bodies by drinking coffee first thing in the morning, as this can exacerbate dehydration from the preceding night’s sleep. The body's cortisol levels, which help wake us up, peak between 30 to 60 minutes after waking, and drinking coffee before this natural response can interfere with the body's biological rhythm.
In addition to hydration issues, Nateri points out that caffeine intake at the wrong time can disrupt hormonal balance. This disruption could have adverse effects on the body, especially in the morning when the body is trying to regulate itself after sleep. By introducing caffeine too early, individuals may be counteracting their natural wake-up mechanisms, leading to potential health risks over time.
The advice serves as an important reminder for coffee drinkers to consider the timing of their caffeine consumption. By delaying coffee intake until after the body has naturally adjusted to waking, individuals may find a more beneficial approach to their morning routine, potentially improving hydration levels and hormonal balance throughout the day.
