Free literacy course opens registrations for residents of Campos

Residents of Campos dos Goytacazes can enroll until March 30 in a free literacy program aimed at adults and youth.

Residents in Campos dos Goytacazes, located in the Northern Fluminense region of Brazil, have the opportunity to enroll in a free literacy and education program offered by Instituto Yduqs in partnership with Estácio. The registrations will remain open until March 30, targeting individuals who have not learned to read and write or those looking to improve their literacy skills. Enrollment can be completed either online or at the Estácio campus located in the city center.

The literacy program consists of two modules, each lasting four months. The first module focuses on teaching basic reading, writing, and mathematics, while the second module emphasizes text interpretation and critical writing skills. It is designed to accommodate individuals experiencing functional illiteracy. Classes are scheduled to take place twice a week, each lasting three hours, and participants will receive support from monitors and educators from Estácio.

This initiative, as highlighted by Cláudia Romano, the president of Instituto Yduqs and vice-president of the educational group, aims to foster inclusion and citizenship among the local population, addressing a significant gap in literacy within the community. By providing these resources for free, the program hopes to empower individuals and enhance their educational opportunities, contributing to personal and communal development in Campos dos Goytacazes.
