Phone app - a new weapon against the very common male sexual dysfunction

A new app named 'Melonga' aims to help men suffering from premature ejaculation through psychological training and techniques.

Premature ejaculation is considered the most common male sexual dysfunction, affecting about one in three men. Traditional treatments, including medications like local anesthetics and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), may delay ejaculation but often require repeated use and can have side effects. Additionally, pills must be taken prior to sexual intercourse, which can reduce spontaneity, leading experts like Christer Groebens from Heidelberg University to state that current medical treatments do not solve the problem effectively.

The 'Melonga' app offers a program designed by psychologists and urologists that combines techniques for recognizing arousal, exercises for pelvic floor muscles, mindfulness practices, and cognitive behavioral strategies. Users will learn to identify a point of no return and employ breathing, relaxation, and start-stop techniques to reduce arousal levels. This holistic approach aims not only to address the physical aspects of premature ejaculation but also the psychological factors that contribute to it, promoting better communication and a more comprehensive understanding of sexual health.

By using modern technology and behavioral therapy, 'Melonga' represents a significant step forward in addressing sexual dysfunction issues among men. This app could empower users with the tools to manage their condition effectively and enhance their sexual experiences, breaking the stigma surrounding premature ejaculation and encouraging open conversations about sexual health.
