To expand the water supply and sewage networks, a part of two villages has been connected to the city of Dusetos

The Lithuanian government has made a decision to expand the water supply and sewage networks in the Zarasai district by connecting parts of two villages to the city of Dusetos.

The Lithuanian government has recently approved a project aimed at expanding the water supply and sewage systems in the Zarasai district. The initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry of the Interior, seeks to connect more households to central water supply and sewage treatment networks. This will involve the construction of sewage treatment facilities and the expansion of existing water supply networks.

The project is specifically designed to cater to residential areas with a minimum population of 200, which currently excludes the village of Padustėlis due to its smaller population. As a solution, the Ministry proposed to geographically expand the city limits of Dusetos, incorporating parts of Padustėlis and the village of Užtiltė. This proposal aims to create a more unified urban entity that is spatially and perceptually recognized as a single community, thereby meeting the required population criteria.

The successful execution of this project is expected to ensure the delivery of socially necessary water supply and sewage services that are both technically and economically accessible to users. This expansion will not only improve the infrastructure but also enhance the quality of life for residents of the newly integrated areas by providing essential utilities that are crucial for public health and environmental sustainability.
