Kalev and Tuul become Estonian champions in long classic distance
Christopher Kalev and Teesi Tuul won the titles at the Estonian cross-country skiing championships in long classic distances.
On Saturday, the Estonian cross-country skiing championships took place in Tehvandi, featuring longer classic distance races. In the men's 30 km classic race, Christopher Kalev triumphed, finishing in one hour, nine minutes, and 37.3 seconds, while Martin Himma secured second place, finishing one minute and 20.1 seconds behind. Henri Roos completed the podium in third place, 1 minute and 53.5 seconds slower than Kalev. In the women's 20 km race, Teesi Tuul emerged victorious with a time of 56 minutes and 43.5 seconds. Mariel Merlii Pulles followed closely behind in second place, finishing 25.3 seconds later, while Teiloora Ojaste claimed the bronze medal, finishing with a time 2 minutes and 53.0 seconds behind. The races were initially scheduled for early February but were postponed to March 21 due to cold weather conditions. Additionally, on the preceding Friday, the sprint relay was won by representatives from the Emajรตe Ski Club, Stefan and Ralf Kivil, who completed their race in 16 minutes and 19.0 seconds. Christopher Kalev and Henri Roos from the Sports Club CFC finished 5.4 seconds behind, showcasing a competitive environment in the events leading to these championships.
