"Quality for All": New digital tool for assessment and transparency in the National Health System

A new digital tool named "Quality for All" aims to improve the evaluation and functioning of Greece's health system.

The newly introduced digital tool "Quality for All" is expected to revolutionize how the health system in Greece is assessed and enhanced. Launched by the Ministry of Health in collaboration with the WHO Regional Office for Europe, this platform is part of the broader Health-IQ program, which focuses on patient-centered care by introducing a comprehensive framework for recording and analyzing the quality of services provided. The initiative seeks to address previous fragmented assessments of the National Health System (NHS) by integrating data from hospitals and primary healthcare facilities, making it easier to identify areas requiring improvement.

The Health-IQ program, which commenced in May 2023, is currently being piloted in 13 healthcare entities, including seven public hospitals and six health centers across six health regions in Greece. The goal of this pilot phase is to accurately map the quality of services and assess how effectively the platform can gather and analyze relevant data. By enabling better data collection and analysis, the project aims to ensure that issues within the healthcare system are identified and addressed promptly, thus enhancing the overall quality of care.

Through the introduction of this innovative platform, the Greek health authorities aspire to foster greater transparency and accountability within the NHS. This initiative not only underscores the importance of continuous improvement in healthcare delivery but also reflects a broader trend in health systems globally that emphasizes the need for data-driven strategies to enhance patient outcomes and system efficiency. Ultimately, "Quality for All" aims to create a more responsive and effective health service for all citizens in Greece.
