"Everyone Digital: Empowerment & Participation for All" - National initiative for the elderly and people with disabilities

A national initiative called "Everyone Digital" aims to enhance digital skills for the elderly and people with disabilities in Greece, launched during a recent event in Piraeus.

The "Everyone Digital" initiative was formally introduced in Piraeus, Greece, aiming to empower the elderly and persons with disabilities through digital education and participation. Coordinated by the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family alongside the Ministry of Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence, this initiative serves as a collaborative effort to create inclusive digital opportunities for vulnerable groups in society.

The program targets individuals aged 65 and over and those with a disability percentage of 50% or more, showcasing a significant governmental focus on improving digital literacy among these demographics. It will be implemented through 195 educational and empowerment hubs located throughout Greece, with 120 hubs specifically designed for the elderly operating within municipal structures such as Community Centers and Friendship Clubs, while 75 hubs cater to individuals with disabilities through various registered organizations.

Included in the program's offerings are practical support courses for navigating modern technologies, safe internet browsing, utilizing digital communication tools, and accessing governmental online services. This initiative highlights Greece's commitment to bridging the digital divide, ensuring that aging citizens and individuals with disabilities can participate fully in today's technology-driven society.
