Alpinópolis City Hall will appeal after suspension of decision that required Copasa to leave

The Alpinópolis City Hall plans to appeal a court decision that has temporarily halted the process of moving water supply services from Copasa back to municipal management.

The Alpinópolis City Hall, located in Southern Minas Gerais, intends to contest a ruling by the Minas Gerais Court of Justice (TJMG) that has suspended a prior decision mandating the Companhia de Saneamento de Minas Gerais (Copasa) to cease its operations in Alpinópolis. This suspension has put a temporary hold on an ongoing transition of water supply services that was initiated last week. Previously, the court had ruled for Copasa to immediately end its activities in the municipality, which would have allowed the city administration to take over the management of water supply.
