Another 'Twitter Convoy' Trip - One of the Largest in the Campaign's History

The latest 'Twitter Convoy' to Ukraine features vehicles funded through donations and aims to deliver essential supplies to Ukrainian defenders.

The 'Twitter Convoy', a charitable initiative, has undertaken one of its largest trips to date, with half of the vehicles acquired and prepared through donations while the other half have been confiscated from drunk drivers. The convoy is set to transport vital supplies, including generators, canned food, ready-to-eat meals, wet wipes, camouflage nets, clothing, and other necessities for Ukrainian defenders. Given the large number of vehicles this time, organizers made special arrangements to ensure each vehicle had a driver, amidst previous expectations of a queue of applicants for these roles.

As shared by convoy coordinator Pliča, typically there is a high demand for volunteer drivers, but this time, they required four buses for return trips and had 41 participants. This last-minute arrangement was challenging, yet the 'Twitter Convoy' chat group, comprising about 900 individuals, managed to find all the necessary drivers. Pliča expressed satisfaction at the number of new participants signing up for the trip, alongside several seasoned drivers who have made the journey to Ukraine more than ten times.

Participants of the 'Twitter Convoy' face the significant challenge of covering around 1100 kilometers, which requires substantial physical and mental endurance. This community effort highlights a commitment to supporting Ukraine during its ongoing crisis and showcases the solidarity amongst volunteers who are willing to contribute their time and resources for the cause.
