Barros Barreto and Bettina Ferro Hospitals had nearly 2,000 appointments on Women's Health 'E' Day in Belém
Two hospitals in Belém, Brazil, provided nearly 2,000 health services for women as part of a national campaign focused on women's health.
On March 21st, the Barros Barreto and Bettina Ferro hospitals in Belém, part of the Complexo Hospitalar da Universidade Federal do Pará, participated in the Women’s Health 'E' Day initiative, aimed at promoting women's health at a national level. The event, organized by the Brazilian government as part of the health system's commitment to women's health during the 'Month of Women', offered nearly 2,000 scheduled health services for female patients.
The initiative included a variety of specialized services such as consultations, imaging exams like mammograms and MRIs, and surgical procedures including mastectomy and cryosurgery. At the João de Barros Barreto hospital, approximately 1,130 procedures were planned, focusing on essential diagnostic tools such as ultrasound and CT scans, as well as cardiological evaluations and outpatient surgeries, while the Bettina Ferro hospital provided over 800 health services.
This campaign not only highlights the importance of women's health services in Brazil but also demonstrates the commitment of local hospitals to address women's health issues through accessible medical care. By providing these services, the initiative aims to encourage women to prioritize their health and seek necessary medical attention, particularly during a month dedicated to celebrating women's contributions and addressing their specific health needs.
