Scenes Like from Movies Were Real: Special Forces Tested Their Skills
Lithuanian special forces conducted complex tactical exercises aimed at enhancing inter-agency cooperation and rapid response to high-risk threats.
On March 19-20, Lithuanian special forces under the Ministry of the Interior conducted extensive tactical drills focusing on improving collaboration between various agencies and ensuring an effective response to potential high-risk threats. The exercises were designed to test and refine the capabilities of the involved units, namely the Public Security Service's Reaction and Counterattack Team ORKA, the Police Department's Anti-Terrorist Operations Unit 'Aras', and the State Border Guard Service's Special Operations Division 'Kovas'.
During the exercises, officers were trained in coordinated actions, employing specific tactics and available weaponry. A series of realistic scenarios was simulated, including a scenario that involved responding to an armed incident on a transit train between Moscow and Kaliningrad. This training created a practical environment where officers could practice their skills in hostage rescue and crisis management.
The successful execution of these drills reflects Lithuania's commitment to enhancing its national security capabilities, particularly in light of increasing regional threats. The collaboration among different special units is crucial for ensuring that the country can effectively deal with crises, emphasizing the importance of preparedness in an increasingly complex security landscape.
