Companies interested in the bidding for the construction of the bridge between Cássia and Delfinópolis deliver envelopes at B3 in São Paulo
Companies interested in bidding for the construction of a bridge between Cássia and Delfinópolis have submitted their proposals in São Paulo, as part of a concession project from the Minas Gerais government.
The Government of Minas Gerais has initiated a concession project for the construction of a bridge that will connect the municipalities of Cássia and Delfinópolis in southern Minas. On Friday, the 20th, companies participating in the bidding delivered their proposals at B3, São Paulo's stock exchange. This bridge, extending 1,280 meters, is expected to replace the current system of ferries which has been a barrier to connectivity for many years. It aims to accommodate approximately 780 vehicles daily, which would significantly enhance transportation in the region.
The proposed project, which has an estimated investment of R$ 221.4 million and a concession period of 30 years, highlights a major infrastructure development that has been long awaited by the local communities. The tender documents were published in December, detailing the bridge's specifications and the anticipated benefits it will bring in reducing travel times and improving accessibility in the region. The government has partnered with Codemge for project structuring, while Axia Energia is involved in maintaining the ferry services currently in operation.
This bridge construction is a significant step towards minimizing the isolation that the towns have experienced for decades and is expected to boost economic activities by improving connectivity. The involvement of local companies in the bidding process signifies strong interest in enhancing regional infrastructure, which could lead to job creation and better living standards for residents of Cássia and Delfinópolis.
