MG to Launch 5 New Cars in India to Compete with Fortuner and Creta
MG is set to launch five new cars in India, including SUVs and electric models, starting with the Majestor to rival the Fortuner.
JSW-MG is preparing to debut five new vehicles in the Indian market, aiming to expand its portfolio with new SUVs and electric cars. Among these, the MG Majestor is positioned to compete against the popular Fortuner, with pre-bookings already initiated in India. This new model is categorized as a D-segment SUV, reflecting MG's strategic expansion into more premium segments and electric offerings.
The company is also planning to replace the existing MG Astor, which competes in the same segment as the Creta, with a new model that has yet to be revealed. JSW-MG's aggressive launch strategy suggests that consumers can expect a series of new products throughout the year, incorporating the latest automotive technologies and designs.
The Majestor, specifically, is set for an official launch in April and is based on the current MG Gloster but promises a significantly revamped design that appears more premium and bold. The anticipated price range for this SUV is between 45 to 50 lakh rupees, showing MG's intent to capture a sophisticated audience amid increasing competition in the Indian automotive market, particularly from established players like Toyota and Hyundai.
