In Nashik, a self-proclaimed astrologer named Ashok Kharat, who claimed to predict the futures of politicians, businesspersons, and celebrities, has been arrested on grave criminal charges. Following his arrest, significant details have emerged, painting a disturbing picture of his activities, which allegedly include rape and blackmail. Police recovered 58 video clips and assets exceeding 150 crores from him, which raises serious concerns about his operations. The Nashik Crime Branch Unit-1 took action on the morning of the 18th, arresting Kharat after a complaint was lodged by a 35-year-old woman at the Governmentwadi police station regarding rape. Due to the case's seriousness, the Maharashtra government has entrusted the investigation to a Special Investigation Team (SIT), led by IPS officer Tejaswini Satpute. Initial interrogations have already taken place, although more information has yet to be disclosed to the public. Authorities emphasize that the investigation is still in its preliminary stages, and further actions will be based on the facts that emerge.
