Free Theater Exhibition Celebrates the Centenary of Dario Fo with Plays and Workshops
In celebration of Dario Fo's centenary, Teatro Itália in São Paulo will host a week-long program featuring various activities related to the Nobel laureate's works.
Teatro Itália in São Paulo is commemorating the centennial of Italian playwright Dario Fo, known for merging elements of medieval comic theater with modern drama. Over the course of a week, the theater will host a diverse range of events, including workshops and performances of four of Fo's notable plays: 'Casamento Aberto', 'Uma Mãe', 'O Primeiro Milagre do Menino Jesus', and 'Mist'. This initiative aims to deepen the appreciation for Fo's contributions to theater and culture.
In addition to the theatrical offerings, the cultural scene in São Paulo is alive with the ongoing '100 Years of Film: Classics in 16mm' exhibition at the Centro Cultural São Paulo, which is nearing its final sessions. This exhibition provides an opportunity for film enthusiasts to engage with classic films presented in their original analog format, further enriching the cultural experience available in the city.
Another notable event to keep an eye on is the upcoming performance of Lenine's tour 'Eita', which is scheduled for May at Tokio Marine Hall. These events reflect the vibrant cultural landscape in São Paulo, showcasing a blend of theater, cinema, and live music that celebrates not only local talent but also international artistic legacies.
