Folha Prova elects the best white, milk, filled, and fruit-flavored Easter eggs
Folha conducted a blind taste test of 38 Easter eggs, categorizing them into five segments to evaluate their taste and value for money.
As Easter approaches, Brazilian consumers are overwhelmed by a vast array of chocolate eggs available in various styles, fillings, sizes, and price ranges. To aid in the purchasing decision, Folha evaluated 38 products from well-known brands and artisanal sweet shops in a blind taste test, highlighting those that stood out due to their flavor and cost-effectiveness. The chocolates were divided into five categories for precise comparison: milk (8 products), white (7), Brazilian fruits (7), filled (11), and those available in major supermarket chains (5).
The jurors' evaluation criteria included aspects such as texture, presentation, flavor, proportion of chocolate and other ingredients, and overall cost-benefit. Notably, some eggs impressed through their presentation, like the milk chocolate from Confeitaria Dama; others stood out for their unusual fillings, such as the dulce de leche with miso from Hanami confectionery; and innovative flavor combinations like jabuticaba with wasabi from the dessert restaurant Ara.
This year's selections not only assist consumers in choosing quality options for their Easter celebrations but also highlight the creativity within the local chocolate scene, showcasing how traditional Brazilian ingredients can be utilized in contemporary dessert offerings. With the growing trend of artisanal products, these evaluations guide eager buyers towards exceptional finds in a crowded market.
