CPMI President Asks STF to Identify Who Used Phone Number That Exchanged Messages with Vorcaro
The President of the CPMI of INSS has requested the STF to identify the user of a phone number that exchanged messages with businessman Daniel Vorcaro.
Carlos Viana, the president of the CPMI investigating the INSS, has reached out to the Supreme Federal Court (STF) to formally identify the user of a mobile phone associated with the Court that communicated with businessman Daniel Vorcaro, the owner of Banco Master. This inquiry arose not from leaks, but through the technical capabilities of the CPMI, which analyzed Vorcaro's cloud data backups to discover a recurring phone number.
The recurring number was identified during the examination of Vorcaro's cloud data backups, where he stored conversations, including those with his ex-girlfriend, Martha Graeff. A request was subsequently made to the Telecommunication Records Investigation System (SITTEL), which confirmed that the number indeed belongs to the STF. The key issue for the CPMI now is whether the phone identified through this technical investigation corresponds to the one used in correspondence with STF Minister Alexandre.
This development raises significant questions about the communication ties between private sector individuals and judicial authorities, potentially impacting the integrity of governmental institutions and their interactions with business entities. The resolution of this inquiry may have broader implications for transparency and accountability within Brazil's political and judicial framework, as it scrutinizes the boundaries of influence and contact between powerful sectors and state institutions.
