Guritiba Brings Theater and Play to Children at the Festival

The Guritiba program at the Festival de Curitiba offers engaging theatrical and playful experiences for children and families, starting on March 30 and running through April 12.

The 34th edition of the Festival de Curitiba features the Guritiba program, which focuses on providing enriching theatrical experiences for children and families. This year’s event runs from March 30 to April 12, and will take place at the Auditório Poty Lazzarotto within the iconic Museu Oscar Niemeyer. The initiative emphasizes a blend of theater and interactive play, encouraging family participation and community engagement throughout the festival duration.

As part of the Guritiba initiative, activities kick off in the auditorium’s lobby at 3 PM, turning it into a lively park where children can engage in a range of fun activities, including jumping rope, hula hooping, and playing traditional games like hopscotch and juggling. This pre-show engagement is designed to energize attendees and prepare them for the theatrical performances that follow, fostering a sense of community and enjoyment among families.

Fabíula Passini, the festival director, highlights that Guritiba serves not only as entertainment but also as an important educational and social project. It aims to build an audience for theatrical arts among the younger generation while mobilizing local community members, including students and teachers, to participate in creative experiences that have lasting impact.
