Toyota and Union open exclusive selection process for PCDs in Sorocaba
The Metalworkers Union of Sorocaba and Region, in partnership with Toyota, has launched a job selection process exclusively for people with disabilities, with the event scheduled for next week.
The Metalworkers Union of Sorocaba and Region, in partnership with Toyota, has announced an exclusive job selection process for people with disabilities (PCDs), starting on Friday, August 20. This marks the third edition of their partnership but is the first time it specifically targets individuals with disabilities. A total of 350 positions are available, and those who do not secure a job will be placed in a database for future opportunities, indicating a commitment to ongoing inclusivity in the job market.
The selection process will take place in-person on Wednesday, August 25, at the union's headquarters. To facilitate access and encourage participation, applicants will not be required to present medical reports upon registration; instead, self-declaration will be prioritized. This move aims to lower the barriers for individuals seeking employment and to promote the inclusion of people with various disabilities, including physical, auditory, visual, intellectual, or multiple impairments.
According to Silvio Ferreira, the secretary-general of the Union, the initiative is a step toward eliminating obstacles that hinder the employment of people with disabilities. The union’s role is to provide inclusive opportunities and ensure that all individuals, regardless of disability, have the chance to participate in the workforce and contribute to the community. This program reflects a growing focus on diversity and inclusion within the labor market in Brazil, and it emphasizes the importance of creating pathways for marginalized groups.
