Seduc implements mini-tests to strengthen learning for more than 100,000 students
The Secretary of State for Education in Brazil is conducting the first Seduc mini-test of 2026 to assess over 100,000 students in various educational stages.
The Secretary of State for Education (Seduc) in Brazil is launching the first mini-test of 2026 on January 18 and 19, aiming to assess over 100,000 students across the state network of schools. This initiative is part of the Learning Management program and serves as a strategy for ongoing pedagogical monitoring, specifically focusing on students' performance in Portuguese Language and Mathematics. The step taken is crucial for ensuring that students are keeping pace with their learning objectives at various educational stages.
The primary objective of these mini-tests is to provide continuous monitoring of student learning, identify gaps in the teaching process, and inform more targeted pedagogical interventions across schools. Throughout 2026, a total of eight evaluations are expected to be administered, enabling consistent tracking of the educational progress throughout the academic year. This systematic approach is expected to significantly enhance the quality of education and support teachers in adjusting their teaching methods as necessary based on the test findings.
This first round of mini-tests will involve students in the 9th grade of Elementary School as well as the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd years of High School, focusing on fundamental skills required for their academic development. By engaging such a large number of students and collecting relevant data through these assessments, Seduc aims to refine educational strategies and ensure a stronger foundation in key subjects, which is essential for the students' future academic endeavors and overall knowledge retention.
