Executor, scouts and focus only on one brand: understand how the gang that stole luxury watches operated
A Brazilian criminal gang focused on stealing luxury Rolex watches has been dismantled, with recent arrests made during an ongoing operation.
The gang investigated in the 'Luxury Watch Operation' was specifically targeting Rolex watches and comprised four members with designated roles. Recently, on Wednesday, law enforcement in Brazil apprehended a 20-year-old suspect in the North Zone of São Paulo. According to police reports, this individual is suspected of having shot an entrepreneur in downtown Piracicaba in December 2025 to steal a luxury Rolex watch valued at approximately R$ 120,000.
In addition to the shooter, the criminal structure included two brothers who served as the leaders of the gang, focusing on identifying potential victims in shopping malls and outlets. The gang also had a designated driver to facilitate the approach to their targets. Of the four members, only one of the brothers has been identified and remains at large, with an outstanding arrest warrant issued against him.
This development underscores a growing trend of organized crime focusing on high-value consumer goods in Brazil, prompting increased law enforcement efforts to combat these specific types of crimes. The targeting of luxury items highlights the intersection of affluence and criminal activity, raising concerns regarding safety measures in retail environments.
