On Thursday morning, a tragic hit-and-run accident occurred in the Friends Colony area of Etawah, where a speeding black SUV ran over three pedestrians. The vehicle, after hitting the pedestrians, collided violently with a pole, causing significant damage to itself. The impact was severe, leading to the destruction of the SUV's chassis and raising concerns about road safety in the area.
The three individuals injured in the incident included two young men working at a nearby shop and one person who was simply walking down the street at the time. They were rushed to the district hospital for immediate medical attention. Due to the seriousness of their injuries, they were later referred to Saifai Medical College for advanced treatment. The medical reports indicated that their conditions were critical, underscoring the incident's severity and the urgent need for public safety measures on roads.
Tragically, one of the injured, 45-year-old Gulab Singh from Datavali, succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the hospital. The other two victims, Veeru from Rampur Nawli and Nikhil from Ramnagar, remain in critical condition. This incident has raised alarm in the community about reckless driving and highlights the need for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations to prevent such tragic events in the future.
