Three lives lost trying to avoid a pothole, car returning from a wedding crashed into a tree

In a tragic incident on Sunday in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, three individuals were killed, and three others were seriously injured in a road accident. The mishap occurred near the Kila area on the Delhi-Bareilly road, as reported by news agencies. All six occupants of the car were returning from a wedding ceremony held in the Subhash Nagar area when the driver lost control while attempting to avoid a sudden pothole.
The driver, Govind, struggled to maintain control of the vehicle as it swerved towards a tree, leading to a catastrophic collision. The fatalities include Ramgulam (75) from Muradabad, Khemkaran (58) from Rampur, and Moni (28) from Rampur, who died at the scene. Additionally, Moni's husband Govind (32), their two-year-old son Gyandeep, and another individual named Ram Bahadur suffered severe injuries and were rushed to a hospital for treatment.
Local authorities, including Area Officer Anjani Kumar, reported that police arrived at the scene promptly, facilitating the emergency response. The deceased's bodies have been sent for post-mortem examinations, and their families are set to receive them following the completion of medical protocols. This tragic accident highlights the ongoing road safety issues in the region, particularly concerning hazardous road conditions that lead to such fatal incidents.
