In the biathlon sprint, Bendika ranks just outside the TOP 30; Žanmono secures the Big Crystal Globe

In a tense biathlon sprint, French athlete Lou Jeanmonnot finished sixth, solidifying her victory for the season despite a penalty lap, while Latvian athlete Bendika finished beyond the top 30.

The recent biathlon sprint showcased a thrilling competition between French skater Lou Jeanmonnot and Finnish competitor Suvi Minkinen, with both athletes vying for overall championship points. Despite a considerable gap in points before the sprint event, Minkinen retained a theoretical chance to close the distance this weekend. Jeanmonnot, however, managed to secure her position firmly by finishing sixth even after incurring a penalty lap, while Minkinen placed 11th without any penalties, securing both the Big and Small Crystal Globes for her performance this season.

On the podium, Hannah and Elvira Eberg, two Swedish sisters, took the spotlight once again, with Hannah claiming victory by clocking in at 20 minutes and 20.4 seconds, followed by Elvira who finished just 20.1 seconds behind her sister in third place. Italian athlete Lisa Vitoci came in second, narrowly trailing the leader by a mere 5.3 seconds. Notably, all medalists maintained a flawless shooting performance, indicating both skill and precision in their respective races.

Latvian athlete Bendika finished 50.3 seconds behind the winner and was unable to break into the top 90 alongside her fellow competitors. Sanita Buliņa also struggled with three penalty laps, highlighting a challenging day for the Latvian team. This event not only underscored the fierce competition within the sport but also spotlighted the remarkable achievements of athletes such as Jeanmonnot and the Eberg sisters, while emphasizing the struggles faced by others in high-stakes scenarios.
