Generation Z is the most conservative among car buyers. Here are the requirements of the young

A recent survey reveals that Generation Z in Poland is the most conservative cohort in car purchasing, demonstrating differing financial approaches and readiness compared to Millennials.

Recent survey results indicate that 42% of Poles perceive their household's financial situation as good or very good, with attitudes varying significantly across generations. Among Generation Z and Millennials, approximately one in four believe the economic situation is favorable, while older respondents aged 45-65 are generally more optimistic about the state of the economy, suggesting a more cautious outlook from younger cohorts. This generational divide reflects contrasting expectations and financial confidence regarding significant purchases like vehicles.

Despite a strong interest in car purchases, with nearly half of respondents planning to buy a vehicle in the next year, purchasing readiness sharply declines among Generation Z compared to Millennials. The survey highlights that young Poles aged 18-24 are the least likely to consider buying a car, which may indicate a shift in their values or priorities amid changing economic landscapes. This hesitance perhaps underscores a generational tendency toward more sustainable or shared modes of transportation.

Furthermore, when it comes to financing vehicle purchases, Polish consumers exhibit a conservative approach, with 76% preferring to pay in cash instead of utilizing credit or financing options. This inclination indicates a cautious attitude towards debt among younger consumers and may impact the automotive market dynamics in Poland, suggesting that as these younger generations mature, their purchasing habits may remain significantly influenced by their current financial perceptions and risk aversion.
