Deividas Gudaitis, a firefighter from the Marijampolė Fire Rescue Service, was awarded the 'Firefighter Rescuer Star' for his outstanding service during a critical rescue operation that occurred last autumn. During the incident, a woman became trapped in a metal fence with a rod piercing through her leg. Each second was crucial, and quick, professional actions by Gudaitis and his colleague saved the woman's life.

Upon arrival at the scene, Gudaitis immediately assessed the situation and provided essential first aid, including using a tourniquet to stop the severe bleeding. The rescue team worked quickly to remove the fence rod that was causing the injury. The precise coordination and timely responses demonstrated by the firefighters exemplify the importance of their training and preparedness in emergency situations.
