The Chandigarh police have achieved a breakthrough in the murder case of a property dealer with the arrest of two main suspects after an encounter in Kaithal.

The Chandigarh police have made significant progress in the investigation of a property dealer's murder case that took place in Sector 9. The operation, carried out by the Punjab Anti-Gangster Task Force and the Haryana STF, resulted in the arrest of two main suspects following an encounter in the Chausala area of Kaithal. During the encounter, both suspects sustained serious injuries and were subsequently hospitalized for treatment.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Rajan, also known as Piyush Pehalwan from Firozpur, and Preetam Shah from Nawanshahr. Authorities have linked them to the notorious Lucky Patiala, a shooter associated with the Bambiha gang operating from abroad. The murder is said to have occurred during the day on March 18, 2026, when these suspects executed the killing of Charanpreet Singh, also known as Chinni, in broad daylight, which raised significant public concern about safety and law enforcement efficacy in the area.

Following the incident, the AGTF Punjab launched 'Operation Silent Trigger' to quickly dismantle the entire module associated with the crime. In a swift operation, they outlined the criminal activities of the suspects and successfully apprehended both individuals within 24 hours of the murder, showcasing the police's commitment to combating organized crime and ensuring justice. Both suspects are now under police custody, and the authorities are expected to delve deeper into their connections to further apprehend other associates involved in the case.
