Osaka Prefectural Police Officer Dismissed for Filming and Selling Sexual Acts with Dating Partner
An officer in the Osaka Prefectural Police has been dismissed for filming and selling sexual acts with his dating partners, leading to criminal charges.
A police officer from the Osaka Prefectural Police, specifically in the Habikino Traffic Division, was dismissed following his involvement in filming sexual acts with two women he was dating and distributing these videos for sale online. The 26-year-old officer was charged with distributing obscene materials and violating laws regarding revenge pornography. He admitted to his actions, stating he was motivated by financial gain, selling the videos for between 3,500 to 5,000 yen each.
The police investigation revealed that from November 2024 until September of the previous year, the officer possessed and made available a total of 40 obscene videos depicting sexual activities with his partners, making them accessible to a wide audience on the internet. In one notable case, he allegedly posted a video on social media where one woman's face was identifiable, increasing the severity of the violation. This not only reflects poorly on the conduct of the officer but also raises concerns about how such activities were able to occur within a police framework meant to uphold public decency.
Additionally, during the investigation, suspicions arose about the officer's potential involvement in another incident involving voyeurism. He was also charged with filming upskirt videos of women on trains in the Osaka area during the summer months of the previous year. The head of the oversight division, Eiichi Kunii, remarked on the serious nature of the officer's offenses, asserting that strict measures would be taken to address such incidents and prevent future occurrences.
