The Beyond Borders International Documentary Festival of Kastellorizo travels to Athens

The Beyond Borders International Documentary Festival is coming to Athens, featuring award-winning documentaries and masterclasses with industry professionals over a three-day event.

For the fourth consecutive year, the Beyond Borders International Documentary Festival of Kastellorizo is set to bring award-winning documentaries closer to the audience in Athens. From March 27 to 29, the Greek Film Archive will showcase compelling films that comment on significant aspects of history and society from around the world, all with free admission on a first-come, first-served basis. This festival creates an opportunity for cultural exchange and broadening public understanding of global issues through film.

In addition to the film screenings, the festival will host a preliminary working meeting for the new Co-production Development Forum initiated by Beyond Borders. The forum, guided by acclaimed industry expert Rudy Buttignol, aims to foster collaboration and development in documentary filmmaking. This highlights the festival's commitment not only to showcasing films but also to creating spaces for professionals to network and learn from each other, thus strengthening the documentary community.

Moreover, attendees will have the chance to participate in a masterclass on the art of pitching, led by Dr. Claudia Schreiner, the Head Moderator of the Beyond Borders Pitching Lab and former head of the Masterschool at the Documentary Campus. Such educational components provide enriching experiences for aspiring filmmakers and contribute to the overall mission of the festival to nurture talent in the industry.
