Greece at the 76th Berlin International Film Festival

Four Greek-interest films will participate in prominent programs at this year's Berlinale, starting on February 12.

The 76th Berlin International Film Festival, Berlinale, will showcase four Greek-interest films in its prominent programs beginning February 12. Although only one of these films is directed by a Greek filmmaker, all are Greek co-productions, supported by funding programs from the Greek Film Centre. These selections highlight the ongoing collaboration between Greece and other countries in the film industry, emphasizing the importance of co-productions in expanding the reach of Greek cinema. In the International Competition section, the film "Salvation" by Emin Alper will premiere on February 15, produced in collaboration with George Tsourgiannis. Another entry in this section is "DUST" by Anke Blondé, also premiering on the same day. Both films reflect a diverse range of themes and styles that will engage a wide audience at one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world. Additionally, the film "A Prayer for the Dying" by Dara Van Dusen will be featured in the Perspectives program, highlighting the creative talents behind the scenes, including Greek producers Fénia Koscovitsa and Vicky Mihas. This representation at the Berlinale not only showcases individual talents and stories but also reinforces Greece's position in international cinema, paving the way for future projects and collaborations that can elevate Greek storytelling on a global stage.
